John Goodman, the renowned American actor, met his future wife Anna Beth Hartzog in 1988, while they were working together on the movie “Everybody’s All American.”

According to Goodman, their first encounter was at a Halloween party, where Anna initiated the conversation. In an interview with Elle magazine, Goodman shared that he was surprised that someone as stunning as Anna would talk to him.

After their first encounter, Goodman stalked Anna long-distance, leading to a marriage proposal.

The proposal took place on the banks of the Mississippi River, with the couple going to a jewelry shop before heading to the river. The couple had their first daughter, Molly Evangeline, in 1990 and moved out of Hollywood to raise their family away from the public eye.

After a few years, they permanently settled in the Garden District of New Orleans.

Despite difficulties along the way, such as Goodman’s battle with substance abuse, the couple remained together for 33 years, living a happy and fulfilling life together.

Goodman overcame his drinking problem and lost over 100 pounds by adopting a healthy lifestyle that included exercise and a balanced diet.

Goodman and Anna’s love story is an inspiration for many, and their relationship stands the test of time. They showed that true love can overcome any obstacle and that with commitment and dedication, a couple can build a happy and fulfilling life together.
