Dave Grohl has once again proven that he is one of the nicest guys in music after cooking for 450 homeless people… there goes my hero!
The frontman of Foo Fighters seems to make headlines for the right reasons, and this time is no different after he used his free time to help those in need.
The 54-year-old collaborated with The Hope Mission where he put on an amazing-looking barbecue for homeless people in Los Angeles, per TMZ.
Grohl spent 16 hours cooking ribs, pork butt, brisket, cabbage, coleslaw, and beans which involved 14 hours of cooking and two of letting the meat rest.
Images obtained by TMZ show that Grohl was incredibly hands-on during the cooking process, proving that he has talents that lie beyond the stage.
The musician even took a nap on site while the meat was busy in the smoker, and it is reported that he financed the entire event himself.
Grohl was also hands-on when it came to serving the food he and the rest of the team had whipped up as he chatted to Hope Mission staffers and guests living in the shelter.
Overall, it is reported that the BBQ catered to 450 homeless guests alongside 50 members of staff. There can’t be much better than enjoying an amazing spread of food with Dave Grohl.
It’s been a turbulent year for Grohl and his bandmates after Taylor Hawkins tragically died in March 2022 while the band was on tour.
Hawkins had suffered from chest pains in his hotel room in Bogota, Colombia, and was found unresponsive when paramedics arrived on the scene.
Despite their best efforts, the 50-year-old drummer was declared dead and a later toxicology report showed that he had 10 drugs in his system at the time.
The band understandably canceled their upcoming shows following the tragedy, but arranged two tribute concerts in Los Angeles and London which were attended by a host of stars.
Taking to Instagram, the band outlined how they would be moving forward without Hawkins. Their statement read: “As we say goodbye to the most difficult and tragic year that our band has ever known, we are reminded of how thankful we are for the people that we love and cherish most, and for the loved ones who are no longer with us.”

They continued: “Foo Fighters were formed 27 years ago to represent the healing power of music and a continuation of life. And for the past 27 years our fans have built a worldwide community, a devoted support system that has helped us all get through the darkest of times together.
“A place to share our joy and our pain, our hopes and fears, and to join in a chorus of life together through music.”
The band, which formed in 1994, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
