Whoopi Goldberg would do everything to get a shot at the position that Pat Sajak now has!

Goldberg and her co-hosts on The View, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, were joined by Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings on Tuesday to discuss Pat Sajak’s revelation that he would be retiring from Wheel of Fortune.

While Griffin was questioning Jennings about whether or not he had any suggestions for who could succeed the renowned host, Goldberg could be heard in the background screaming, “I want that job. I am interested in having that position.

Jennings quipped that with the “succession crisis” that Jeopardy! had when Alex Trebek passed away, he hopes that they already have someone in mind to take over the host role.

In the meanwhile, Behar made it clear that Goldberg is free to take over the conversation. “Whoopi wants the job,” the comic said as she joined the conversation.

Goldberg then said, “I want that job,” to the ovation that was coming from the crowd. “I believe that it would be a great deal of fun.”

Behar also joked that she and Hines might step in for Vanna White as the host of the game show, changing the letters around after the competitors guessed them.

“Sara and I could play Vanna White; we’ll take turns pointing to the letters as we walk back and forth,” she said.

Goldberg is already familiar with the name in question. “So we can call you Vera White,” she laughed to herself. “Vera White.”

Wheel of Fortune presenter Pat Sajak said on Monday that he would formally step down from his role at the conclusion of the show’s upcoming 41st season. Sajak made the announcement. White has not disclosed any information to this point regarding her plans for the show’s future including her participation.

“Well, it seems like the moment has arrived. “I’ve made the decision that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” Sajak announced in a tweet. “The show will go on without me.” “I’ll have more to say in the coming months, but let’s just say that it’s been an amazing trip so far. Many thanks to each and every one of you.”

The longstanding presenter, who is now 76 years old, concluded his email with a hilarious remark, which read as follows: “If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!”

Although it has not yet been determined who would take over for Goldberg, rumors have suggested a number of other famous candidates, including Maggie Sajak, White, Pat’s daughter, Ryan Secret, and others in addition to Goldberg.

When it comes to the possibility of White taking over for her longtime co-host, Variety’s Marc Malkin told ET that the chances “are pretty well for a way to do it.” White has been a co-host on the show since its inception.

“She has shown this ability in the past. According to Malkin, “it remains consistent with the brand.” “When it comes to television, a lot of people don’t want to be disturbed, and one thing has changed much too much. Vanna White is a guarantee that the program will still have its staying power, and I believe that because of that, the show will continue.
