Kevin Costner’s bombshell divorce announcement stunned fans and the public alike. Relatives and associates of the actor claim he was completely unaware of his wife’s plans to divorce him. Read on to learn the most recent development in this saga.
The divorce of Kevin Costner is growing contentious. Christine, his estranged wife, said that with Costner’s approval, she was able to access the family account and see their income and expenditures for the year 2022.
This is why she needs Costner to pay her $248,000 in child support. Christine, with whom Costner shares custody of his three adolescent children, cited the couple’s 2022 profit and loss account to assert that the actor made $19,517,064 that year.
She continued by saying that the family’s costs for 2022 were $6,645,285 (without including taxes), and that the net income for the year was $7,595,520 (after taxes).
Christine went as far as to have a forensic accountant examine Costner’s “gross cash flow available for child support.” According to the CPA’s analysis, Costner brings in around $1,536,808 per month on average.
A certified public accountant has calculated that the current monthly guideline for a child support payment on that amount is about $152,681.
However, the CPA elaborated that this figure should be $248,000 every month in order to maintain the children’s accustomed lifestyle (as represented in the spending account from the prior year).
“I get that we have a rather unique way of living. I realise how fortunate I am to be in this time and place. Christine said in court filings.
“It is important to not only provide a warm and comfortable home for our children but also to teach them family values and gratitude.
” According to the Child Support Guidelines in effect in 2022, Kevin’s monthly child support obligation would be $152,681.
A monthly expenditure of $332,264 is required to maintain the children’s existing lifestyle, which is 60% of what our family spent.
“although it is less than the amount needed to maintain the children in their accustomed lifestyle,” the petition said. “I am requesting that the Court order [Costner] to pay me $248,000 per month in child support.”
Despite Costner’s accusations, Christine has said that she is ready to leave the house, but “cannot do so without support from Kevin.” Since our split, Kevin has continued to cover all of our bills,” she said.
There is no assurance he will continue to cover these costs in the future, though, and he has done a lot of things to make it more difficult for me to pay for things. Kevin has not shown any willingness to commit to paying the required amount of child support as of yet.
Since the accountant did not have complete information about all of Costner’s commercial ventures, he concluded that the actor’s actual income was likely far greater.
Christine has “not yet been provided with any tax returns, financial statements, or general ledgers for any of Kevin’s businesses,” the accountant said.
“Nor have we been provided with statements for personal credit cards of the parties or with statements for credit cards paid by Kevin’s businesses.”
The child support hearing is set for next month. It seems like things are going to become worse here. Ideally, the two sides can come to an agreement that works for them.
