Uncle Si Robertson of Duck Dynasty is finally getting the lung surgery he’s needed for the last year and a half.
The 74-year-old patient can’t wait to begin treatment and promises he’ll be back to talking nonstop in no time.
Several episodes of Si Robertson’s podcast “Duck Call Room” have him discussing how he believes smoking is partially to blame for his respiratory issues.
In addition, he already suffers from COPD, therefore the early 2021 COVID-19 diagnosis came as a shock. He later acknowledged that he had serious concerns that he wouldn’t survive COVID.
The rest of the podcast hosts and his own family pointed out that he wasn’t doing all he could to assist himself.
The four guys tell in the part headed “Uncle Si’s COVID-19 Story” how Si refused to go to the hospital and then, after being released home several days later, refused to take his medication.
The COVID-19 pandemic provides the backdrop against which these events are unfolding. After giving in, he felt better almost immediately.
He started being open about needing lung surgery in May of 2022. When Si breathes in, both of his lungs work properly, as he explains in Duck Call Room episode 146.
He needs surgery to install a device that will enable his underperforming lung to exhale the necessary quantity of air so that he may breathe normally again.
There will soon be an operation. In the email, he states, “It appears that I am approved for lung surgery; however, there are a few more things we need to do.
” When that happens, I’ll be able to fill your head with additional tales that are, without fail, 95 percent true.
