Chris Pratt candidly discussed how he met his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, revealing that it was a period in his life when he was grappling with personal challenges and feeling emotionally shattered. Pratt admitted that he couldn’t resist stealing glances at the daughter of the renowned actor.
Pratt felt broken till the moment he met his second wife.
In this recent interview, Chris Pratt opened up about a challenging phase when he felt afflicted and shattered. “There was a moment in my life when I was really struggling and felt really broken. For me, my own journey, (it was about) finding a higher power and leaning on that and being like, ‘Please save me,’ and then feeling saved,” Pratt said. And then shortly the actor met Katherine Schwarzenegger, whom he calls ’the woman of his dreams’.
But before meeting her the actor was married to Anna Faris. During their marriage, they welcomed their son Jack, but unfortunately, they announced their separation after eight years. Shortly after, Pratt began dating Katherine, his current wife, and they officially became a couple four months later.
In 2019, Pratt proposed to Schwarzenegger, and in the same year, they exchanged vows and got married. Their family continued to grow as they celebrated the arrival of their daughter Lyla Maria in August 2020 and another daughter, Eloise Christina, in May 2022.
Pratt and Schwarzenegger met in a church.
Pratt met Katherine Schwarzenegger, the daughter of Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger, in 2018. According to Pratt, love can strike unexpectedly like a fast-forward button pressed by a higher power. He stated, “When it’s right — boom! — you’re hit. You fall in love, you get married.”
Pratt also revealed the story of their initial meeting. Surprisingly, it happened in a church, where people often seek solace, absolution, or inner peace. In Pratt’s case, he found his future wife.
The actor compares their couple to the ’right puzzles’.
“But I was sneaking some glances and wondering, ‘Who is that? Anyway, what am I doing? Come on, I’m broken, help me. But who’s that?’” he recalled. “So we kinda hit it off. And we didn’t start dating right away, but we met there and later on ended up going out.”
The actor expressed that everything about his encounter with Schwarzenegger felt right. “It made sense. You know when you’re doing a puzzle and there’s a piece, and you’re like, ‘I’m certain that’s the piece,’ and then you jam it, and it looks like it should be the piece (but then) you’re like, ‘Oh it’s that one,’” he said.
“It just fits together. You’re like, ‘Oh, it fits because it was the piece that was made to fit there.’ It felt like that.”
