School won’t be complete without the bus ride. It is simply an essential part of being a student.
While riding the bus to school with your friends can be fun, don’t you think it would also be joyous if you can ride to school with your cousins and siblings? The kids who are related to each other had the amazing gift of being able to go to school together on a school bus just for them.
Doug Hayes from Gladstone, Oregon found the perfect Christmas gift for his grandchildren. It is not a simple present at all but one big enough to bring them all to their school.
The elderly man bought the vehicle and painted the words “Grandfather Express” on it.
When he finally showed the bus to her grandkids, they were all awed at how amazing their grandfather’s gift is.
“When they saw it, they were just ecstatic,” Doug told CNN.
The kids were very delighted with the new ride and were thrilled to explore the vehicle.
“It was a big surprise! All of us were really stunned. I never expected him to buy a bus!” one boy says in the video clip while a little girl says “It was really fun!”
Doug wanted to give his grandchildren a gift that they would remember all their lives.
Five of Doug’s grandkids attend a school that is not big enough to have its own school bus. The children always longed about riding a bus to their own school, but it was not possible. And so, he decided to take matters into his own hands and bought a school bus just for them.
“The kids have always said, ‘Gee whiz, I like our school, but we would like to be able to have a school bus,’” the elderly man said.
In the next school year, two more of his grandkids will be attending the same school, and having their own school bus will definitely make their daily routine even more colorful and fun. This is also efficient and perfect because the kids live very near to each other and are all on the same way towards the school.
Of course, the school bus driver is no other than Doug, the best grandfather ever.
It would not be a hassle for him, too.
“Then I can just drop my bus back here at the house and take my car to work,” the elderly man said.
