Following the rise of social media, beauty is gaining ever-growing importance in our lives. This is why many people, including celebrities, are opting for cosmetic interventions in order to attain the current “standards of perfection” and keep their youthful appearance. However, some of them end up regretting these procedures and realize that looking natural and true to who they are is far more important for them than looking picture-perfect.

Jamie Lee Curtis

The 63-year-old actress confessed to having tried plastic surgery decades ago, and admitted that “it didn’t work.”
Years later, the star hasn’t changed her mind and is still categorically against cosmetic interventions. She noted “The current trend of fillers and procedures, and this obsession with filtering [...] are wiping out generations of beauty.” She added, “Once you mess with your face, you can’t get it back.”

Courteney Cox

The 58-year-old actress opened up about trying cosmetic procedures in order to “chase” youthfulness. However, she did not like the results which she admitted made her look “really strange.” So she eventually had to dissolve all of her fillers.

Looking back at her experience, she explained “You need movement in your face, especially if you have thin skin like I do.” She added, “I’ve had to learn to embrace movement and realize that fillers are not my friend.”

Jessica Simpson

The 42-year-old singer and actress admitted to having had cosmetic work done on her lips. However, she was absolutely not satisfied with the results. Simpson revealed, “It looked fake to me. I didn’t like that.” Luckily for her, the effect of the filler disappeared after 4 months, and her lips went back to their former shape.

Jane Fonda

Fonda is known for her incredible physique, even at the ripe age of 84. And while she credits her appearance to a healthy lifestyle and a lot of exercise, she also confessed to having a facelift, which is something she admits not being proud of. The actress explained that she stopped because she didn’t want “to look distorted.”

Melanie Griffith

The 65-year-old actress regrets going overboard with plastic surgery over 20 years ago, and how drastically her face was changed as a result. She admits not realizing the overly transformative effect the procedures had until people started pointing it out to her.
She recalls “I was so hurt” and as a result, she went to another doctor and started to dissolve all the fillers she had in with the hopes of looking “more normal.”

Gwyneth Paltrow

The 50-year-old actress confessed that cosmetic interventions were her way of dealing with her mid-life crisis. She admitted that when she turned 40, she got anti-wrinkle injections all over her face, which she found “awful.” Paltrow noted, “I looked horrible — one eye was actually higher than the other — and it was definitely a big mistake.” She added that luckily it was temporary and the effect of the procedure went away with time.

Jennifer Grey

The 62-year-old actress admitted to having a nose job back in 1989 which had a negative impact on her career. She went under the knife 2 years after turning into a big star thanks to the movie Dirty Dancing and she noted “I went into the operating room a celebrity and came out anonymous.” She added, “I’ll always be this once-famous actress nobody recognizes because of a nose job.”

Cameron Diaz

The 50-year-old actress opened up about having Botox injections in the past, however, she was not satisfied with the results. Diaz admitted “It changed my face in such a weird way that I was like, ’No, I don’t want to [be] like [that].’” The star added, ’’I’d rather see my face aging than a face that doesn’t belong to me at all."

She went on adding that she does not mind her laugh lines, explaining “Guess what this means, I’ve smiled my whole life. I love life. I’m happy I don’t have a problem with that.”
