Mike Batayeh, who appeared in three episodes of Breaking Bad, passed away on June 1 after suffering a heart attack in his sleep – he was 52 years old.

Mike Batayeh, who appeared in three episodes of Breaking Bad between 2011 and 2012, passed away on June 1 after suffering a heart attack in his sleep – he was 52 years old. His sister, Diane, described his death as ‘very sudden’ and told TMZ her brother didn’t have any prior history of heart complications.

“He will be greatly missed by those who loved him and his great ability to bring laughter and joy to so many,” his family wrote in a statement initially published on TMZ. He’s survived by five sisters, 11 nieces and nephews, and seven great-nieces and great-nephews. The family is devastated over his passing.

In his obituary – published on the Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home website – the Batayeh family praised Mike for his passion for ‘helping youth in the community where he lived and grew up facing similar challenges.’ Any donations in his honor will support and provide recreation to the Southwest Detroit youth.

Most people remember Mike Batayeh from the popular show Breaking Bad, where he was cast as Dennis Markowski – the manager of Lavandería Brillante industrial laundromat, which was owned by Gustavo Fring and was a cover for a meth superlab. Batayeh appeared in three total episodes.

His first appearance came in Episode 12, Season 4, when DEA agents appear at the laundromat amid an investigation. He refuses to let the agents look around, but ultimately gives in when they threaten to get a warrant. Batayeh’s character appears twice more in Episodes 3 and 8 of Season 5A, released in 2012.

Mike Batayeh was pursuing a career as a stand-up comedian at the time of his death. His Instagram was full of clips from his stand-up performances in various comedy clubs around the world. He also has credits in Boy Meets World, CSI: Miami, The Bernie Mac Show, Battle Creek, Prank of America, and much more.
