A Challenging Time for Bruce Willis and His Family
Bruce Willis and his devoted family have faced a series of hardships in recent months. As widely known, the renowned actor has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, a degenerative brain condition that has compelled him to step away from the limelight, potentially indefinitely.
While much has been said about the love and support provided by Bruce’s family during his difficult times, new reports now raise concerns about the mental well-being of his daughter, Tallulah.
Heightened Concerns for Tallulah’s Mental Health
According to Radar Online, the Willis family is growing increasingly worried about Tallulah Willis’s mental health as her father’s condition continues to deteriorate.
Earlier this year, Bruce Willis’s family confirmed his diagnosis of a form of dementia, and his daughter Scout expressed her heartfelt emotions following the public announcement, acknowledging feeling overwhelmed by the news.
In March, Willis announced his retirement from acting after being formally diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that reportedly impaired his communication abilities and made working on set increasingly challenging.
Fast forward to February 2023, when his diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia was disclosed to the public. Needless to say, the following weeks and months have been an uphill battle for the Willis family, and now they face another distressing situation.
Radar Online reports that Tallulah, Bruce’s daughter with actress Demi Moore, revealed that she battled anorexia after her fiancé Dillon Buss ended their relationship less than three months after her father’s aphasia diagnosis.
While there hasn’t been much information about Tallulah’s condition since then, it is now claimed that Bruce himself was aware of his daughter’s suffering.
According to a source cited by Radar, “Bruce could see her wasting away, and it only made his own problems worse.” The insider further stated, “Bruce was shattered when he saw Tallulah’s suffering.”
The situation became so challenging that the family eventually thought it would be better if they distanced themselves from one another.
Tallulah’s Struggles and Candid Revelations
Tallulah disclosed that she sought treatment at an in-patient facility following her separation from Dillon. It was during this time that she received a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder.
In a recent heartfelt essay for Vogue, Tallulah candidly shared how her battle with body dysmorphia began when she started taking medication for ADHD. The medication made her feel intellectually capable for the first time, but it also triggered an appetite-suppressant effect.
Describing her experience, Tallulah said, “There’s an unhealthy deliciousness at the beginning of losing weight rapidly. People are like, ‘Oh wow!’ And then quickly it turns to, ‘Are you okay?’ My friends and family were terrified, and I dismissed it.”
By spring 2022, Tallulah’s weight had dropped to around 84 pounds. She constantly felt cold, relied on mobile IV teams, and avoided walking in her neighborhood due to fear of not finding a place to rest and catch her breath.
A Hope for Recovery
We sincerely hope that Tallulah receives the support she needs and can make a complete recovery. Her situation is undoubtedly challenging, as she navigates her own struggles while also being confronted with her father’s health issues.
