The official cause of death for the late Lisa Marie Presley has been determined by the L.A. County Coroner.
The entertainment world was left in shock as 54-year-old Lisa Marie, the sole child of the legendary Elvis Presley, and his wife, Priscilla Presley, tragically passed away on January 12.
She died just two days after her high-profile appearance at the Golden Globe Awards.
According to TMZ, Lisa Marie was reportedly on a rigorous weight loss regime at the time of her death, driven by a desire to look her best at a series of forthcoming award ceremonies in honor of the Elvis biopic.
Inside sources divulged to the outlet that Lisa Marie underwent plastic surgery and was using weight loss medications in the run-up to the prestigious Golden Globes ceremony on January 10.
The sources also hinted at a potential use of opioids by the late heiress. The insiders made reference to her conduct on the Golden Globes red carpet, where she was allegedly slurring her words and required the support of her friend Jerry Schilling to maintain balance speaking.
Now, according to a new report by TMZ, she died from a condition known as sequelae of small bowel obstruction, essentially a complication arising from a small bowel obstruction.
For those unfamiliar, small bowel obstruction is a potentially serious condition often requiring immediate medical attention.
The report is, however, not yet exhaustive. We can expect more detailed insights when the full report, inclusive of toxicology results, becomes public.
