According to a recent Mamas Uncut article, the country music icon is now headlining a residency slot in Las Vegas. And at one of her shows last week, she cut it short to address a fan.

Reportedly, while playing her song “Tin Man,” Lambert saw a paying audience member snapping a “selfie.” Lambert made use of the situation to publicly identify the paying customer.

Suddenly, she paused and said, “I’m gonna stop for a minute.” Lambert continued by telling the lady she had gestured towards to put down her phone and enjoy the show.

It annoys me because the females’ attention is focused on taking pictures of themselves rather than the music.

I’m afraid I just don’t care for it. Tonight, we’re here to listen to some country tunes. I’m belting out some good ol’ country tunes.

Lambert resumed his performance as soon as the lady put aside her phone. There was an immediate outpouring of sympathy for Lambert from the audience when she denounced the “selfie-takers.”

During her most recent show, Lambert halted the act after seeing a fan sporting a shirt that said, “Shoot tequila, not selfies.” A garment that Lambert evidently liked.

Lambert told the onlookers, “Her shirt reads, ‘Shoot tequila, not selfies. To paraphrase, “She did it, I didn’t!”

Lambert has just further infuriated his audience by adding salt to their wounds. “Wow! One commenter said, “Can’t believe this is her response to her rudeness.”

While many in attendance at the event appeared to back Lambert, many online commenters did, too.

Way to embarrass and shame your loyal fans who adore you, one Twitter user remarked. She could have joked about it, posed for the selfie, and then urged them to enjoy the occasion. And that’s just not cool.

Going to a concert is about making memories and having an experience. Another Twitter user chimed in, saying, “If someone wants to take a picture to remember that, they should be able to.”

In response to Lambert’s actions, the “self-taker” in question has uploaded the images she shot. Adela Calin said that the time it took to take the photo and return to their seats was little more than 30 seconds, adding that they “took the picture quickly and were going to sit back down.”

But Miranda Lambert has already called them out, so they can’t even get there. Calin said she was “appalled” at how Lambert had disparaged them in front of a huge audience.

She said that she was reminded of being in a classroom where a teacher was reprimanding her for misbehaviour and told her to return to her seat.

I got the impression that she was dead set on portraying us as immature and egotistical teenagers. However, we were simply a group of ladies in our 30s to 60s taking a photo.
