Being at the right place at the right time doesn’t always solve problems. Being willing to take a stance for those in need and the vulnerable often requires the same level of bravery.

These four young men went out for what should have been an ordinary night, but instead had an adventure they will never forget.

While skating in a basement parking garage, Arnaud Nimenya, Carsyn Wright, James Hielema, and Starlyn Rives-Perez saw something out of the ordinary.

A young woman, about 15 years old, was being carried by an older, well-dressed guy as she staggered through the establishment.

The guys sensed something was wrong and were worried. The girl’s prognosis was grim.

One of the lads said that she was so inebriated that she was “screaming and yelling.” All she wanted to do was escape. She looked dusty and scuffed up.

But as the lads got closer to help the girl escape, the guy claimed to be her father. They withdrew since she didn’t provide much of a response.

Wright added.”The males, however, sensed that he wasn’t being truthful and went to double-check on the female”.

It ended up being a choice that ultimately saved the woman’s life.
