A 5-year-old kid died in Indiana when his father accidentally drove him over in an apartment complex parking lot.
Jeremiah Holmes of South Bend died Sunday after being hurt in the incident at Castle Point Apartments.
St. Joseph County police were called to the location about 10:30 p.m. local time on Saturday after a youngster was reported not breathing.
According to sources, the boy’s father, 28-year-old Christopher Holmes, was subsequently identified as the driver of the car involved in the incident, which occurred near a playground at the apartment complex.
According to authorities, claims of a shooting were ultimately proved to be erroneous. Responding cops subsequently learned that the child’s father had accidentally driven him over, according to accounts.
According to the reports, Jeremiah was taken to a local hospital and eventually died from his injuries.
According to sources, an inquiry into the event is continuing. The boy’s father, who was not hurt in the event, assisted investigators.
It is unknown if the kid and father resided in the apartment complex or together. At this time, there has been no information about prospective charges.
Following Jeremiah’s terrible death, a GoFundMe effort was created.
“We appreciate and Thank you for the prayers and condolences,” GoFundMe organizer Markia Gee wrote in the fundraiser’s description. “However if you can find it in your heart to help us send our loved one home, it too will be greatly appreciated.”
