Perhaps the beauty of sibling love comes from the fact that it is so completely unconditional. We have regular disagreements, smear one other, and even incite wrath in one another as siblings.
Siblings, however, are the ones who will be by your side no matter what. I am blessed with two wonderful siblings: a brother and a sister with whom I have a unique bond.
If they really needed my help, it wouldn’t matter how I was feeling at the time or how friendly we were with one another.
That’s probably why I felt such a strong connection to this narrative. Vermonter Chris Garafola and his sister Brittany, who happens to have Down syndrome, star in this biopic.
It’s safe to assume that their relationship flourished even more when they entered adulthood together.
Chris knew that Brittany would play a pivotal part in his wedding to Tatiana, the love of his life, since they had known one other since they were both teenagers.
Tatiana and Chris decided to postpone their wedding until Brittany could be there to celebrate with them. Due to her weakened immune system, Brittany needed to have her COVID-19 injection before she could attend any social activities with other people.
In February of 2021, Brittany got her shot, and Chris and Tatiana could finally start making wedding plans.
Tatiana was seen having a FaceTime conversation with Brittany in a video posted to YouTube by male model Chris in late March of the same year.
Even more shocking than Tatiana’s question was the news that Brittany’s younger brother was getting married.
“And do you know the thing I was going to ask you? Could I ask you to be my maid of honour? The video features Tatiana inquiring. Brittany cried tears of joy at the possibility, and she said, “Yes, I can.”
Chris and Tatiana were married in April of 2021, with Brittany serving as the maid of honour. The couple then showed off the exquisite ring they had gotten Brittany as a wedding present.
“She’s been my best friend from the very beginning, and that won’t change even after I get married,” Chris said.
The images of Chris, Tatiana, and Brittany, taken by a mutual friend, went viral. Even a cold heart must be softened by the overwhelming quantity of love captured in these images. In the clip below, Chris and Tatiana finally tell Brittany the news.
