It’s official! Bruce Willis and Demi Moore are now grandparents as their eldest, Rumer Willis, 34, has welcomed her first child with indie musician Derek Richard Thomas. The couple announced the happy news to the whole world and gave us a glimpse into their new life, sharing the first image of their baby and her unconventional name.
Willis and Thomas made their relationship public in May 2022.
Later that year, in December, they announced they were expecting. On Tuesday, April 25, the new parents shared that their daughter was born at home. “You are pure magic,” Willis captioned the image, adding, “You are more than we ever dreamed of.”

For her daughter’s name, Willis knew she wanted something interesting, unique, and different, given her own rare name and those of her sisters, Tallulah and Scout. Her boyfriend was all in and they agreed on Louetta Isley Thomas Willis.
Rumer is the first of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s 3 daughters to give birth.
Before giving birth, Willis shared that her family was really excited to welcome the new baby and that it was “fun to be bringing the first grandkid in our family, especially because we’re such a huge group at this point.”
Her father, Bruce Willis, told her he was hoping for a grandson, as his daughter explained, “Even my dad puts pressure on me; he was like, ’So I’d like for you to have a son because I need some male energy in this group.’ It’s a lot of women, obviously. He has 5 daughters and my mom and my step-mom. There’s just a lot of female energy.”
Louetta Isley Thomas Willis was born into a loving, blended family.
The birth of Louetta is the perfect ray of sunshine for the Willis-Moore family, as they’ve been going through a difficult time due to Bruce Willis’s dementia diagnosis. They’ve all been supportive of the actor and it has brought them closer together.
