After Andrew Tate’s passionate speech about how the world is just a big matrix, there seems to be the possibility of it actually being real. A video of a plane seemingly hanging in the air has had people questioning whether life is all just a big glitchy phenomenon. In the clip which has gone viral, it does look as if the passenger plane has been frozen in time as it motionlessly levitates above the traffic below. Needless to say, such a video has definitely rankled the public, leading to speculations continuing on social media. One TikTok user, who went by the name Tania, commented, “Glitch in the Matrix? This isn’t the first time I have seen this in Chicago either.”
The video of the motionless plane has been viewed close to 1.2 million times, and a lot of individuals are as baffled about it as Tania herself. Another user commented, “I would have had to pull over and get out to make sure I was seeing this correctly…This is wicked lol.” Another individual commented, “Can’t no plane just sit in idle… yeah definitely a glitch.” While a fourth individual commented, “Dude this confirms way back I saw a plane stay in one spot and looked at everyone around me they thought I was nuts…” Well, the science behind would confirm that filming something that is moving in the other direction can make it seem stationary. But why use science, when the other alternative is far more interesting?
Social Media’s Possible Explanations Behind The Plane Supposedly Hanging Motionless In The Air
Some of the users on TikTok, though, seem to be aware of what really is going on with the plane. One individual commented, “Have you heard of the relativity of motion?” While another individual wrote, “The comment section is filled with people who never studied physics.” This supposedly alarming phenomenon can be explained quite easily with the help of science.
The plane, contrary to the expectations of the people seeing it, isn’t really hanging motionless in the air. Rather, what could be the most plausible explanation is that the plane is caught up in some very strong headwinds. As such, the wind has made the plane move very slowly. Interestingly, one could also stake a claim that the plane is moving slowly because it is about to land. But to those people on the ground who saw the plane for a few seconds and were traveling in the opposite direction, it could appear that the airplane has stopped moving completely.
Commenting on yet another similar optical illusion video, Jeff Parsons, the technology editor for Metro, commented, “In all likelihood the motion of the car is counteracting the slowing down of the plane- possibly as it comes in to land. Add to that the shifting perspective of the camera and it could seem as if the plane was stationary in the air.”
