Every time a member of the military leaves on a deployment, the family must endure additional hardship. Members of the armed forces who are sent abroad must say farewell to their families, often for the last time.
It’s hard to grasp one’s brain around the possibility that a family may never be together again. They face life-or-death circumstances while on duty and have to work hard to return back to their families as soon as possible.
Those who stayed back home aren’t exactly riding high either. They have to face every difficulty in life without somebody to lean on.
Despite advances in communication technologies like video calls, keeping in touch with loved ones back home while a service member is deployed may still be difficult.
Lt. Michael Lemmons of the United States Navy is on the same boat. The couple’s baby was born while Lemmons was away, abroad.
But Lemmons didn’t have any company. He and the other twenty-seven crew members all missed their kids’ births. They couldn’t wait to go home and meet the newest member of the family, thus their release was a major priority.
See Lemmons’s face light up with joy as he see his wife waiting for him on the pier in this touching clip. He doesn’t waste any time after seeing her in the throng; he rushes up to introduce himself and his infant.
She cuddled their newborn kid. He was so little, but so amazing. When Lemmons couldn’t contain his excitement any longer, he said, “He’s perfect. Many thanks.
He wanted to thank his wife for taking care of the house while he was away, especially since he was unable to be there for her through the difficult time of delivery. He is aware of how challenging it is to be a single parent.
