The couple spent a lot of quality time together, exploring the city in Alan’s classic 1955 Thunderbird convertible and reveling in each other’s company.

Alan was working many jobs after the couple got married and relocated to the country music center of the globe.

While he was working in the Nashville Network mailroom, his wife returned home with some thrilling news.

In her capacity as a flight attendant, she had a fortuitous meeting with Glen Campbell. After learning about Alan, the Rhinestone Cowboy volunteered his assistance.

Success at Last!

Campbell hoped to steer Alan in the direction that might lead to a record contract with Arista Records.

And he expressed this desire to him directly. It was on this label that his first song, 1989’s “Blue Blooded Woman,” was published.

Alan’s first number one song “I’d Love You All Over Again” was included on his parent album Here In The Real World, which was released a year later. Alan may have been on his way to stardom, but his life was everything from rosy.

Gaining Ground

After achieving four more No. 1 singles, Alan Jackson released A Lot About Livin’, his first album to top the country music charts.

All through the 1990s, he reigned supreme in the country music genre with hit hits like “Chattahoochee.”

Jackson was the first to be honest about his experience as a father of three children, years before Ali came forth with the truth about her own.

Alan Gets the NaSHEville Credit

Mattie, together with Brooke Tometich, founded the organization NaSHEville. Neither woman considers NaSHEville to be a “modern feminist movement,” but they do insist that it provides a forum for women.

Mattie says that the guidance she received from her father as a child was essential in her ability to establish such a foundation.

To paraphrase what he really said: “You’ve got a gift, sugar, but you haven’t lived life yet; go find something you want to write about.” In fact, Mattie did just that.

Eventually, Ali and Alan became closer to one another.

Writing a song for his middle daughter Ali’s wedding brought Alan and Ali even closer together. Several delays and adjustments were made before Ali finally tied the knot in 2020.

Fortunately, the family was still able to have a modest garden celebration to honor the newlyweds. Alan composed a song especially for the father-daughter dance at both Mattie and Ali’s weddings before the big day. Assumably, Dani’s wedding will make use of it as well.
