Kimbrough’s first wife, Mary Jane (Wilson) Kimbrough, whom he divorced in 1991, passed away in 2007. He later remarried Beth Howland, who died in 2016. Kimbrough is survived by his sister Linda, his son John, stepdaughter Holly Howland, and granddaughter Cody.
The cause of his death remains undisclosed, but it has been noted that he died of what were presumably natural causes, given his age.
