German actor Eric Braeden made it clear in a video posted on Friday that he has cancer and is currently undergoing immunotherapy.
The 82-year-old took part in a Facebook Live session toward the end of last week and revealed that while recovering from knee replacement surgery, he had experienced prostate issues.
He was then given a diagnosis by a physician after high-grade cancer cells were found close to his bladder.
I’m sorry to be so frank, but I think this might be good for some older guys who may or may not listen to this, the actor said. ”
Braeden, who won an Emmy for his role as Victor Newman on the venerable CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, had prostate problems prior to receiving an UroLift treatment.
Nevertheless, the cancer cells were found, and he underwent surgery to remove them before starting a six-week immunotherapy regimen.
The 82-year-old was candid with his admirers about his condition and begged them to support loved ones going through a similar experience.
I’ve learned to pay more attention to my body and not push myself too hard, Braeden said. ”.
“Well, if you’ve noticed, I have been a little under the weather, but I’ll lick this. I’ll get me, not this idiot, who will fail to do so. Soon, I’ll be back to my top self. ”.
The actor stated, “So that’s where I am right now. Acting is fun for me. I love pleasing people. Thanks for your assistance. As a result, be there for your family members whenever they go through this. It may work out. Modern cancer treatments have made incredible strides, and you can survive cancer. ”.
Braeden is looking forward to reprising his regular role on The Young and the Restless, which he has had since 1980.
He said, “I’m still glad I can go to work.
“I get woozy from it. I like performing. My goal is to make people laugh. And I do value your assistance. It matters a lot. ”.
Let’s all hope the future is bright for Eric Braeden. I look forward to the day when cancer is completely eradicated from the world.
