We live in a world where we appreciate the opportunity to express ourselves through what we wear and how we arrange our hair and makeup. It really makes us individuals, but there are times when our individuality can be squelched.

A 29-year-old woman found this out in a very difficult way when she accepted a job. Shortly after she took the job, they informed her that she would not be able to wear pink hair. She had to cover it up or she would be fired.

They really didn’t put any specifics on the rule, they just said that she had to cover up her pink hair. That is when she decided to accept the challenge and she has shared her method of doing so on TikTok since then.

Her name is Emily Benschoter and she has been sharing her journey on TikTok since that time. She had been interviewed for the position and she would be working in the hospitality industry.

The interview took place over video chat so she never had the opportunity to sit in front of anyone. When she showed up for work, however, she found out about the issue with her red hair.

Her manager had a suggestion for how she could deal with it, and that was for her to wear a wig. She decided she would listen to the manager but she would pick the craziest wigs she could find.

Since that time, people have been watching her TikTok clips to find out what she would be wearing next. She also feels that it’s a good segue for talking to customers who disagree with her having to cover her pink hair.

There were also some who questioned why she just didn’t dye her hair back to the natural color. She said that it wasn’t an option because she is self-expressive and feels confident with pink hair.

Rather than giving up the job or compromising on her personal choices, she decided to work around the situation and we all get to enjoy it.
