I’m sure that we have all had the experience of recognizing an actor and appreciating what they do, but we just can’t think of their name. Perhaps we may also run across them in public or online and we don’t recognize them.

That is how many people feel about one actor who has certainly impacted the entertainment industry in ways we can even imagine. Many are even calling him the most talented actor, but his name is not often recognized and sometimes, we don’t even recognize his face.

I’m talking about Vincent D’Onofrio, an actor who has played in some of the biggest movies in recent decades. Once you see him from those movies or hear about the roles he played, it will become obvious just how talented he is.

Vincent became interested in the theater in the 70s. He was born in 1959, but he worked mainly behind the curtains until graduating from high school. Eventually, he got involved in New York University student stage productions.

Although he worked as an actor, he also had to take on part-time work as a bouncer at the Hard Rock Cafe. He also worked for Robert Plant, the singer from Led Zeppelin as a bodyguard.

In 1987, he got his big break by playing Leonard Lawrence in Full Metal Jacket. This was an interesting role, not only because of his acting but because he had to gain 70 pounds to play that Marine private.

In 1992, he played a character in The Player. That character was a screenwriter who had become bitter because the good screenplays had disappeared from Hollywood.

He played a policeman in Strange Days in 1995. Then, in 1997, he was on the screen with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in Men in Black. He played the alien that wore the Edgar suit.

The Cell was a movie he played in in 2000 and then in 2001, he got another big break by playing a lead in Law and Order Criminal Intent. He Went on to Play in 141 Episodes As Robert Goren.

Vincent Played in many other television shows and movies over the years. He played Vince Vaughn’s business partner in the 2006 Movie, The Breakup.

In 2015, he landed a role in Jurassic Park.

These are really only the tip of the iceberg for the many different things he was able to do over the years. Certainly, he has earned the reputation of being one of the most prolific and talented actors today.
