Conjoined Twin Explains What Happens During Sister's Intimate Moments With Boyfriends

They’re incredible at respecting each other’s privacy

Imagine sharing not just a physical connection but also the most intimate moments with another person. That's the reality for conjoined twins whose bond transcends boundaries. In a rare and candid revelation, one conjoined twin sheds light on what happens when his sister engages in relationships with her boyfriends.

Meet Lori and George Schappell, the world's longest-living conjoined twins, defying the odds while leading separate lives while joined at the head.

Remarkably, George, formerly known as Dori, embarked on a transformative journey and transitioned to live as a man in 2007.

This groundbreaking decision not only marked an important milestone for George but also made Lori and George the pioneering same-sex conjoined twins to embrace distinct genders, challenging societal norms and expanding our understanding of individual identity within their extraordinary bond.

Born with the extraordinary circumstance of sharing 30 percent of their frontal lobe brain tissue and critical blood tissue, the Schappell twins have faced unique challenges.

Yet, they have defied these physical limitations to lead separate lives and assert their individuality.

Each twin identifies as a distinct individual, forging their own paths and engaging in separate romantic experiences.

Despite being conjoined twins, Lori and George Schappell have found a way to lead separate lives and pursue their individual romantic experiences.

When Lori has been involved with boyfriends in the past, she and George have managed to create a system that allows her to date while George focuses on other matters.

I lost my virginity at the age of 23 to my second boyfriend," she told The Sun.

Due to the specific way, Lori and George are conjoined, George has the ability to avoid seeing anything he doesn't want to during Lori's intimate moments with her partners.

They don't face each other, and George would bring books to read on their dates, allowing him to focus elsewhere and disregard any kissing or intimate activities.

She explained: "When I went on dates, George would bring along books to read and, as we don't face each other, he could ignore any kissing. I don't see why being a conjoined twin should stop me having a love life and feeling like a woman."

Tragically, in 2006, Lori was engaged to be married. However, just four months before their wedding day, her fiancé fell victim to a devastating incident caused by a drunk driver.

"It was devastating and my heart is broken," Lori said.

"I am still in contact with his family and have only recently started dating again.

"George looked after me. If it wasn't for him, I don't know if I could have lived through the heartbreak."

In a poignant moment captured during the documentary "Our Life" in 1997, Lori openly shared her deep longing to have a family of her own.

"I would love to have myself a family – a husband and children of mine."

By the '90s, George had undergone a personal transformation, changing his name to Reba, as the twins disliked having names that rhymed.

Reflecting on Lori's desire to get married and have a family, Reba expressed his genuine happiness and support for his sister's aspirations.

"Well, he [Lori's future husband] would be like a brother-in-law to me that is is it. They can do whatever they do and I'll act like I'm not even there. I would block out."

During her interview with filmmaker Antony Thomas, Lori bravely revealed that she was not a virgin. The twins, who share a connection at the head, were born on September 18, 1961.

Their remarkable journey has defied medical expectations, as they surpassed double their life expectancy to reach the age of 61.

Their resilience and ability to overcome challenges have amazed doctors and serve as a testament to their remarkable spirits.

Lori revealed to The Sun: "When we were born, the doctors didn't think we'd make 30, but we proved them wrong."

Lori's journey led her to excel in the world of ten-pin bowling, where she achieved the status of a champion.

Her dedication, skill, and perseverance in this sport are a testament to her individual accomplishments and the pursuit of her passions.

Meanwhile, George pursued a career as a country singer, showcasing their diverse talents and ability to pursue their individual artistic expressions.

Their pursuits in different domains reflect their unique identities and the fulfillment they find in pursuing their respective passions.

Through their accomplishments, they inspire others to embrace their talents and live life to the fullest, breaking barriers and defying expectations.
