After A Teacher Corrected A Student’s Test, The Whole Town Wanted Her Fired

When Chris Piland, a dad living in Pennsylvania, learned what his teacher wrote on a paper his second-grade son handed in, he was outraged. Not only did the teacher try to bully, Piland’s little boy, the teacher, also tried to humiliate him in front of the classmates and to make him feel stupid, which is the exact opposite of what teachers should be doing if they are committed to helping people learn.

So what did the teacher do? They wrote “absolutely pathetic” on top of the little boy’s assignment. Now Piland is calling for the teacher to be sacked because of the hateful remark.

The teacher is employed at the Valley View Elementary School and loves getting their regular paycheck. However, now they’ve been caught in the act of abusing their power over the children. Not only did Piland learn that the teacher finds his little boy’s brainpower “absolutely pathetic,” he knows the teacher isn’t doing their job.

The teacher has since been identified as Alyssa Rupp Bohenek. She wrote the remarks in red pen, which every student knows means they did a bad job. The complete remark was:

“Absolutely pathetic he answered 13 in 3 min! Sad.” Then she drew a frowny face.

The assignment was intended to test how many subtraction problems the second-grade students would be able to complete. The teacher gave children three minutes to do them, and she saw in horror as Piland’s son was only able to complete thirteen of them, which was the worst in the entire class.

Piland uploaded the photo of the assignment online and called out Bohenek for her hate.

“My son, Kamdyn’s teacher, has been so rude to him and myself all year. He comes home with this, and I am beyond frustrated that someone would write this on a child’s work. Such great motivation,” he wrote alongside the photo.

Because Piland didn’t want the teacher to get away with her crime against his son, he started a petition online in the hope of getting her fired so she could not abuse her power over any other little second-grade children.

In response to the outrage, school superintendent Rose Minniti had no choice but to respond. She said she was told about the test last week and has already set up a meeting with the offending teacher to investigate the claims and decided as to whether termination is the correct course of action.

“It’s a personnel issue, and the results of that are not going to be dictated by social media,” Minniti said. “It’s going to be dictated by the facts and evidence. As always with everything, we’re going to try to do what’s best for the students and what we need to do for the employee under investigation.”

Bohenek has worked at the elementary school since 2013. Is she already sick and tired of working with the young children? By the looks of her comment, it sure seems that she is done with it.

What do you think about this teacher’s red-pen remarks?
