Thanksgiving, a day filled with love, laughter, and the gathering of family, turned into a day of sorrow for a family in Texas. The Muckleroys, who were excitedly preparing for a family reunion in Central Texas, faced an unimaginable tragedy that changed their lives in an instant.

On November 22, 2023, just as Thanksgiving was around the corner, the Muckleroy family, including Zach Muckleroy, a well-known CEO from North Texas, met with a terrible accident. They were traveling to join their family for the holiday when they were involved in a horrible car crash on Highway 281 near Johnson City in Blanco County. This crash involved three cars and brought an abrupt end to their holiday plans.

Zach Muckleroy wasn’t just a CEO; he was a man known for his warm personality and his efforts to help others in the Fort Worth area. Tragically, he and his two children, 12-year-old Judson and 9-year-old Lindsey, lost their lives in the accident. Another person, whose name hasn’t been shared, also died in this sad incident.

The only survivor from the Muckleroy family was Zach’s wife, Lauren. She was seriously hurt and had to be flown to a hospital in Austin. Lauren, fighting through her injuries, started a tough journey towards healing.

At a vigil held at the University Christian Church, Senior Minister Russ Peterman, a friend of the family, spoke about Lauren. He shared how much Zach meant to the community and his family, calling him a friend and acknowledging the remarkable kids they had. He mentioned Lauren’s incredible strength, even in such a difficult time.

Lauren’s journey of recovery has been filled with surgeries and challenges, but she’s shown amazing strength. Her twin sister, Melanie, has been there to support her. According to reports, Lauren is now out of the ICU and continuing her recovery.

Amanda McNutt Edwards, Lauren’s cousin, shared a moving message on Facebook. She talked about Lauren’s remarkable strength and kindness, asking everyone for their prayers for Lauren and for the peaceful rest of the family members they lost.

Zach Muckleroy, an alumnus of TCU and a former football player for the Horned Frogs, became CEO of Muckleroy and Falls Construction Company three years ago. His death has left a deep impact on his family, friends, and colleagues. Former TCU Coach Gary Patterson remembered him as an exceptional individual in every aspect of his life.

The company where Zach worked paid tribute to him on Facebook, talking about his positive spirit and his contributions to the community. They asked for prayers for Lauren and the rest of Zach’s family, who are grieving this huge loss.

This tragedy has reminded us all of how quickly life can change and the importance of valuing every moment with our loved ones. We send our deepest sympathies to the Muckleroy family and their friends during this difficult time.
