While Russell Brand may be known for his playful and comedic roles, the actor behind the comedy is a thoughtful and spiritual voice. This week, Russell Brand took to X to shed some light on the cross necklace he wears every day.
“The reason I wear a cross,” Russell Brand began, looking down at his necklace, “is Christianity and the figure of Christ are, it seems to me, inevitably becoming more important as I become more familiar with suffering, purpose, self, and not self.”
He shared his reflections from a yoga mat in an open meditation space. He looked quite peaceful as he discussed this important idea.
Russell Brand then explained the evolution of his relationship with Christianity. Then, he shed some light on what he thought made a difference.
“It seems that it’s taken a lot [of adulthood] to recognize that I need a personal relationship with God,” he said.
