A TikToker was left feeling rattled after witnessing some distressing behavior from a neighbor in her apartment building. However, after calling the police on the woman for keying someone's car, she discovered a plot twist that left her shocked!

On February 9, 2024, a TikTok user named Katie took to the platform to share her story with a caption saying she isn't built for living in apartments. The social media user said she required ten acres of land and solitude.

In her clip, she explained why, with the words "Crazy Neighbor Story Time" appearing at the top. The upset woman shared how rattled she was after having to call the police for assistance for the first time ever.

Katie said the previous night there was a hostile older woman who was screaming in the apartment's parking lot. From what she gathered, the older woman had gotten into an altercation with two other younger women who appeared to live in her building.

The original poster (OP) estimated that the older woman was probably around 50 or older. Part of the things that the woman was screaming was quite racist and she called the other women all kinds of names before the police arrived after someone probably called them.

Katie revealed that the unhinged woman also screamed at the officers because they wouldn't arrest the two younger women, telling her that she was the one being hostile in the situation. However, on the day OP posted her TikTok story, the older woman had another incident.

That time, the woman was shouting and chasing after a 14-year-old boy who tried to get away from her. The teenager was screaming back about the woman assaulting his father. Hoping to show her property manager, Katie took a short video of that altercation.

However, later that day, OP heard the same woman yelling again and this time no one else was outside with her. Katie witnessed the woman keying someone's car yelling, "How about this! Yeah, I'm gonna do my name!"

Surprisingly, the woman actually keyed the car writing her own name! All along, OP was taking another video initially thinking of leaving a note on the vehicle, including her phone number, informing the owner that she had a clip of the person who keyed their car.

However, she was afraid that the belligerent woman would see the note and either remove it or use it to target Katie because she'd have her number. The woman keyed the car all around as OP watched and recorded. After damaging the vehicle, the woman quickly got into her car and drove off so fast and dangerously, that the TikToker was certain she was drunk!

When the police, whom Katie called and who were quite familiar with the peculiar woman because they'd had run-ins with her before, arrived at the scene. However, Katie's story had a major plot twist which she shared with viewers toward the end of her TikTok, saying:

"It was her own car..."

OP shared that the keyed car was registered to the woman who'd done damage to it. The theory Katie had was that the man whom the 14-year-old accused the older woman of assaulting was her boyfriend. It appears the car she keyed was one that she'd bought for him.

The netizen even went as far as urging Katie not to assume the worst of people.

The woman ended up giving herself thousands of dollars worth of damage to a car she owns! The police were stumped because they couldn't press any charges for her keying her own car. However, they offered to document the incident to add to all the other stuff she'd done before.

Before wrapping up her clip, Katie laughed while asking viewers if they'd ever been so angry that they keyed their own cars. Katie's post received hundreds of responses from TikTok users who had a lot to say about the situation, with one person stating,

"As someone who lived in an apt unless it’s after hours don’t be that neighbor to call the cops - mental illness is a thing and if the cops keep getting called they get mad too."

OP replied to the TikToker noting that the woman was "destroying cars" and she had no idea they belonged to her. She asked the person if she was supposed to wait to call the police when the woman got to hers. The same viewer replied,

"And if she did you have insurance. you also said she destroyed a car - so now you assume she’s going to go for every car."

The viewer explained that where she came from you minded your own business unless you wished to make enemies and be the next target. She noted that many mentally ill people got locked up because of people like Katie and that they needed help instead, adding:

"U said destroying cars but in the video you said one car. So just chill (sic)."

The netizen even went as far as urging Katie not to assume the worst of people. She mentioned that firstly, scratches wouldn't kill OP, secondly, her car is insured, and thirdly, if the unstable woman had keyed Katie's car then she could've called the police, prompting the TikToker to state:

"She was going down a line spray painting cars at seemingly random no i’m not gonna wait and see if she does mine lmfaoooooo ur insane."

Seems not everyone sympathized with OP's story and felt she overreacted to the situation despite giving a background of what type of person the older woman was. What would you have done if you were in Katie's shoes?
