A mother dog and her eight puppies were recently rescued after being found abandoned and tied to a tree in Sweet Home, Oregon.
This distressing discovery was made by a local resident who noticed the dogs were scared and alone, with only a deer carcass nearby for food.
Knotty Creek Animal Rescue stepped in to help the canine family. They described the mother dog as resilient and sweet, despite her harsh conditions. She was actively caring for her eight puppies—seven boys and one girl—who are all lively and playful.
Now safely at Knotty Creek, the dogs are adjusting well. The puppies enjoy playing while their mother has been catching up on rest and healing from a leg injury.
The rescue is optimistic about finding loving homes for all the puppies as they have started accepting adoption applications.
This unfortunate situation highlights the cruel reality of pet abandonment, but thanks to the efforts of Knotty Creek Animal Rescue, this dog family has a chance for a happier future.
