Fritz Wepper, who played the lead in CABARET, died at the age of 82.

The German star was best known for her role with Liza Minnelli in the Oscar-winning movie from 1972.

Between 1974 and 1998, Wepper also played Inspector Harry Klein in more than 280 episodes of the popular German crime show Derrick.

In an interview with the German newspaper Bild, his wife, Susanne Kellermann, said that he had died.

She said that Wepper died early Monday morning in a hospice in Munich, where he had been getting care for about a month before passing away after a long illness.

Wepper had been getting palliative care for the five weeks before he died.

You can find Wepper in a production of Peter Pan when he was 11 years old. He was born in Munich in 1995.

In the anti-war film Die Brücke (1959), which won the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film, he played a young soldier and got a lot of attention.

He also played the lead in The Bridge (1959), and then he played Fritz Wendel in the Oscar-winning movie version of Cabaret.

He got married twice and had two daughters with each wife.

Angela von Morgen was his first wife. They got married in 1979 and worked together on the crime show Mord in bester Gesellschaft from 2007 to 2017.

But in 2009, he left Von Morgen for his current wife, Susanne. He later went back to his first wife, though.

Wepper married Kellermann a year after Von Morgen died in 2019.

Sophie, who is 42 years old, is his oldest daughter and also an actress. She worked with her dad in Mord in bester Gesellschaft.
