Zac Efron became recognized as a teen heartthrob after co-starring in Disney’s “High School Musical.” After capturing hearts, he performed in several other movies and made guest appearances on shows like The Guardian and Running Wild with Bear Grylls. Although it’s been a few years since he appeared onscreen, he co-starred alongside Nicole Kidman and Joey King in a recent release on Netflix, A Family Affair. Fans Focus On Zac Efron’s Appearance
While the movie has been the topic of discussion, fans can’t get over Zac Efron’s appearance. A popular X account reposted a snippet of the movie questioning Zac Efron’s identity. “I can’t focus on the movie[.] How is this him?” It was captioned. Fans have noted that he looks different, questioning what happened.
What Happened to Zac Efron?
Subsequently, die-hard Zac Efron fans reminded others of his accident, about which he got candid with Men’s Health in 2022. Zac Efron had reconstructive surgery following an accident at his home. The actor was running when he slipped on socks and injured his chin on a granite fountain. He then underwent reconstructive surgery to repair some of the damage. The actor “lost consciousness and woke up with his chin bone hanging off his face.”
Regarding the notable changes to his appearance, Zac Efron said: “The masseters just grew,” adding: “They just got really, really big.” He has since distanced himself from social media and didn’t know that fans were buzzing about his change in appearance. “My mom told me. I don’t really read the internet, so I don’t really care.” He said.

Next, “The Iron Claw” was released in 2023 and follows the life of the Von Erichs, a wrestling family plagued by an unfortunate fate. Most notably, the actor got incredibly ripped to fulfill his role, capturing the essence of his character in mannerisms and build.

Zac Efron was born in SLO, California on October 18, 1987. At 11 he took piano lessons and was noted by his teacher for his ” burgeoning talent.” Inspired, he auditioned for a recurring role at the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts. His passion had been ignited. His first on-screen appearance was in 2002, in a “short-lived” series called “Firefly.” He would go on to make guest appearances in other series until his break in 2006 when the “High School Musical” franchise was born. Although he’s undergone some changes physically, he’s still the same talented and beloved actor.
