Meghan Markle’s secret letter to King Charles revealed – his reply left the Duchess ‘miserable’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have established a new life in the United States. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the royal family several years ago, but the fallout stunned the family to its core. Harry and Meghan have accused the royals of doubting Archie’s skin tone before he was born, among other charges and personal insults made in their explosive Oprah interview and Harry’s book Spare.

The connection between the royals and the Sussexes is undeniably strained, and despite the fact that Harry attended King Charles’ coronation, everything appears to have remained unchanged between, say, Harry and William. In the midst of it all, Charles reportedly sought to help Meghan in any way he could and is claimed to be the only royal to contact her and Harry following the Oprah interview.

Unfortunately, after Meghan disclosed that she had sui:cide thoughts while working as a royal, Charles wrote her a letter. However, Meghan was dissatisfied with the then-prince’s response, and rumors said it had a significant impact on a major decision.

Harry and Meghan have a lengthy history together. The couple started dating after meeting at a tennis tournament in London in 2016, and love quickly blossomed. But even before the wedding, several of Meghan’s pals suspected she wouldn’t be happy with him.

In a 2019 ITV interview, Meghan revealed that some of her friends even warned her not to marry Harry because of the media scrutiny she was about to face.

“It’s hard. I don’t think anybody can understand that. In all fairness, I had no idea, which probably sounds difficult to understand, but when I first met Harry, my friends were so excited, my US friends were happy because I was happy,” Meghan said.

“But my British friends, they were sure he was lovely, but they said I shouldn’t do it because ‘the British tabloids will destroy your life.’ Because I’m American, I very naively didn’t get it. It’s complicated.”

The Duchess added: “I never thought that this would be easy, but I thought it would be fair, and that’s the part that’s really hard to reconcile.” She continued: “I’ve said for a long time to H – that’s what I call [Harry] – it is not enough to just survive something. That’s not the point of life. You’ve got to thrive and feel happy.”

“I really tried to emulate the British sensibility of a stiff upper lip. I tried, I really did. But I believe what that does internally is probably quite harmful,” she continued.

On May 19, 2018, Harry and Meghan married in a lavish wedding at St George’s Chapel.

At the time, it was clear that the royal family had embraced Meghan. Especially King Charles, who performed an incredible gesture to the Duchess during the ceremony, as her father wasn’t invited.

According to royal biographer Robert Hardman, Charles asked Meghan if she wanted him to escort Meghan to the aisle. In his book Queen of Our Times: The Life of Elizabeth II, Hardman wrote that Charles got a quick answer, but it wasn’t what he expected.

In fact, Meghan stunned the now-King by inviting him to meet her halfway down the aisle. She wanted to make a grand entrance into the chapel on her own.

“Feeling for his future daughter-in-law, the Prince of Wales offered to step in, saying it would be a pleasure to accompany Meghan up the aisle of St George’s Chapel to the altar. According to one friend, the response was unexpected: ‘Can we meet halfway?'” Hardman wrote.

“Here was an indicator that this was no blushing bride, but a confident, independent woman determined to make a grand entrance on her own.”

In 2018’s BBC documentary Prince, Son, and Heir, Harry discussed his father’s willingness to escort his wife down the aisle. Harry initially stated that he had approached his father about it, and Charles consented immediately.

“I asked him to and I think he knew it was coming, and he immediately said, ‘Yes, of course, I’ll do whatever Meghan needs and I’m here to support you.'” Harry recalls.

“For him, that’s a fantastic opportunity to step up and be that support, and you know, he’s our father, so of course, he’s going to be there for us.”

Few would have predicted it on their wedding day, but Harry and Meghan began their verbal attacks on the royals in the year following their exit.

In the infamous Oprah Winfrey interview, Meghan claimed she had been poorly treated, even stating that The Firm, as they call themselves, didn’t help her when she was experiencing mental health problems.

Meanwhile, the Duchess disclosed some stunning details during her chat with Oprah, including how an anonymous royal commented on Archie’s skin color.

“During the months I was pregnant, everything happened around the same time. So we had the topic of ‘he won’t be granted security, he won’t be given a title,’ as well as concerns and conversations about how dark his complexion will be when he is born,” Meghan Markle remembered.

“I remember how he just cradled me.” I went to the institution and explained that I needed to go elsewhere for help. I said, ‘I’ve never felt this way before, and I need to go somewhere. And I was told I couldn’t because it would be detrimental to the institution.”

The Sussexes’ connection with the royal family deteriorated rapidly, and many of The Firm’s members were angered by the allegations made against them.

Meghan Markle addressed a letter to Charles after the Oprah appearance.

Meghan Markle remained in the United States to care for her two children, as previously stated. However, it is known that her mother, Doria Ragland, normally assists Meghan with the children when there is a lot going on; hence, might there have been another reason Meghan did not fly to the UK with her husband?

Later, King Charles, the then-prince, decided to respond to Meghan, expressing his grief about the family’s problems, particularly between Harry and Meghan and the rest of The Firm.

Also, Charles was thought to be the only senior member of the royal family to contact the Duchess following the Oprah interview.

The Telegraph piece included additional details, including Meghan telling Charles that she never intended to accuse the royal family of racism, but rather to explore unconscious bias.

However, a spokesman for Meghan later dismissed the idea, calling it “ridiculous.”

“The Duchess of Sussex is living in the current moment, not obsessing about two-year-old correspondence or talks from four years ago. Any suggestion to the contrary is incorrect and frankly ludicrous. “We encourage tabloid media and various royal correspondents to put an end to the exhausting circus that they are creating,” Meghan’s spokesman told People Magazine.
