Last week, Prince Harry turned forty, marking an important milestone in his life. Along with celebrating the milestone with his family, he earned an impressive payment on the big day.
His great-grandmother, the late Queen Mother Elizabeth, gave him millions of dollars. Even while Harry appears to be living a happy life right now—he lives in sunny California with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two kids, Archie and Lilibet—he will undoubtedly always have his ongoing conflict with the Royal Family in the back of his mind.
Many were therefore taken aback when he received birthday greetings from his father, King Charles, and his brother and sister-in-law, Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Whether Harry and the royal family will ever patch things up is a mystery. The prince is rumoured to be searching for a new residence in the UK, and there have even been rumours that he may wish to rejoin the royal family. Whatever the case, it’s a sad fact that his kids haven’t forged any bonds with their royal family in Britain yet. One analyst predicts that Harry’s next move will be the “saddest” portion for one key reason.
After leaving the royal life behind in 2020, Prince Harry and his bride, Meghan Markle, have caused a great deal of angst within the Royal Family. According to rumours, King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton have been agitated due to books, Netflix series, interviews, and “royal” trips to Nigeria and Colombia. Furthermore, it doesn’t appear that atonement will be made anytime soon, despite reports of potential peace negotiations.
Sadly, Bond adds that the “saddest part of their exile” in the US is that his and Meghan’s kids aren’t getting to know the rest of their UK family because of what their parents did.
The kids don’t realise the difference right now, but when they become older, Harry and Meghan will need to use some tactful manoeuvring to explain things.
Bond came to the conclusion that Harry must be troubled by it as a father. Imagine fifteen-year-old Archie declaring to his pals, “My grandfather is/was King!” My uncle is also King and always will be. He barely knew them, though. How depressing and Meghan would be the one to take the biggest hit for that.
She undoubtedly wants the best for their kids, just like Harry does, and part of that will entail knowing their history. Even if Archie and Lili will still be living thousands of miles apart, I simply hope that by the time they are grown, everything will be more peaceful and the family more cohesive. Since the children are not to blame for this, let’s hope that the grownups can improve the world for the upcoming royal generation.
One thing is that Archie and Lilibet are not able to see their grandfather. But it also has an impact on their relationships with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, their cousins.
The same topic was covered earlier this year by royal specialist Cameron Walker and royal editor Svar Nanan-Sen of GB News.
