The couple chose Adelaide Cottage in Windsor Home Park to build their new home, and despite having four bedrooms, it was still quite modest compared to what they were used to.
Several factors influenced their decision to relocate, but the main, very uplifting cause has received special recognition.

In his most recent book, Catherine, Princess of Wales, royal author and journalist Robert Jobson explained why he believed the family had relocated.
He suggested: “[William] knew his time with his grandmother was precious and he is delighted they, as a couple, made that decision.
“Catherine understood that for William, as a future king, it was important for him to be geographically closer to the late Queen in her final months, when he was required to support both her and his father. It made a real difference.
“They were in regular contact, seeing each other in person and speaking on the phone several times a week, bringing them even closer.”
The late Queen died barely months after the family relocated to Windsor, but knowing they could spend their dying moments closer to her would have meant a lot.
However, according to reports, the pair has kept their Kensington Palace flat and is now utilizing it as an office.
They reside full-time in Windsor, and their children go to Lambrook School, which is nearby.
Jobson’s recent book has additional details regarding the couple’s early dating lives, putting a lot of speculation to rest.
After five years of dating, the couple briefly split up while both attending university at St Andrews.
According to the book, when rumors of a proposal circulated, William got a major case of cold feet and ended it with the future princess in a 30-minute phone conversation.
Months later, they ran into each other at a friend’s Halloween party, and of course, their romance was reignited.
