Fans of Dancing with the Stars are outraged after one of the contestants performed a mediocre cha cha while wearing a bedazzled bracelet on her right ankle. The seemingly innocent ankle bracelet had a serious meaning.

However, the competitor brazenly defended herself, telling the quiet audience, “I’ve reinvented myself many times” and “this time I’m going to be a ballroom dancer.”

Ezra Sosa had a major task during season 33 of Dancing with the Stars, his first as a series pro.

His companion claims to have dance experience, but he admits to having concerns.

When asked about his partner’s previous experience, Sosa replied, “She did ballet and modern.” The Latin dancer jokes, “I don’t think she did…”

Sosa is one of millions of people throughout the world who refuses to believe whatever his partner says.

‘Fake Heiress’

The 33-year-old lady was convicted of grand larceny on multiple charges after impersonating a wealthy German heiress and defrauding numerous socialites, as well as several renowned banks and hotels, while in New York.

Sosa’s partner is Russian-born Anna Sorokin, also known as Anna Delvey, who inspired Netflix’s drama Inventing Anna.

Delvey became a household name after her crime spree – in which she scammed people, banks, and hotels – was made the subject of a Netflix TV miniseries, which was brilliantly portrayed by Julia Garner.

She was convicted of grand larceny on numerous counts in 2019 and was released from jail in 2021 due to good conduct. After breaking the terms of her visa, she was detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and sent to home confinement.

Now a flight risk, she wears an ankle monitor while she battles deportation from the United States back to Germany, where she currently resides.

I was in jail.

On September 17, the convicted fraudster ignited outrage with her debut on the first episode of the DWTS season.

During the program, Delvey explained her unusual accessory: “I overstayed my visa because I was in jail, so it’s kind of hard to leave,” she said, laughing.

“I served my sentence.I have remade myself several times, and this time I am going to be a ballroom dancer.”

The assessors appreciated her efforts and expressed surprise at her achievement.

“I’m kind of, like, lost for words a little bit,” Derek Hough said. “You have the ability to be a truly beautiful dancer. You truly do.”I was kind of surprised.”

Bruno Tonioli expressed his opinion creatively, stating, “Reinventing Anna… yet again!” And it might be working!”

I’m disgusted.

However, the show’s fans were not so nice.

While most people attacked her “robotic” and “miserable face,” some were outraged by the ankle monitor.

“Ankle monitors are not iconic. She should not be on this show,” writes one netizen on the DWTS Instagram page. A second shares, “Felons should not be given any sort of spotlight.”

A third user takes jabs at Delvey’s title: “ooof. ‘Fashionista and entrepreneur?’ No…criminal.”

On the DWTS Facebook site, another fan adds, “Let’s glamorize an ankle bracelet. I’m disgusted.”
