A five year old hero woke up to flames on a Sunday morning, and his first thought was not to save himself, but to save all others…

Noah Woods the five year old picked up his sister and his dog and ran away from the window. But after he did so much more…

It was a Sunday morning when an electrical fire broke out in his house, and the first thing he did was he saved his dog and his sister.

GoFundMe was set up to care for the family’s expenses.

“On the morning of 2/9, we were woken by my 5 year old grandson alerting us that our home was on fire. We thank God for our Noah and his heroic actions. By the grace of God, all nine of our loved ones were able to get out of our home. If it wasn’t for Noah, we may not be here today. The electrical fire began in the children’s bedroom. Noah woke to flames in his room. He quickly grabbed up his two year old sister, Lilly, opened the bedroom window, climbed out the window, and ran next door to get help from his uncle, our son, Josh. Within minutes, all nine of us were able to get to safety. We praise God that we all are safe,” explains the description on the GoFundMe page.

“Our hero!” the Bartow County Fire Department posted on their Facebook Page.

“5 year old Noah Woods recently woke up to find his bedroom on fire. The only available exit was a window. He got himself and his 2 year old sister out of the window to escape the fire and re entered the house to alert the rest of the family

Thankfully, all nine members of the family got out of the home and with the exception of a small burn on Noah’s wrist, no one was hurt.

“Noah and 4 other family members were treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation … On Friday BCFD Chief Dwayne Jamison will recognize him as an Honorary Bartow County Firefighter and present him with a Lifesaving Award.”

“If it wasn’t for Noah, I mean, we were all asleep, so we wouldn’t have known what was going on,” David Woods, Noah’s grandfather, said. “We could’ve all lost our lives.”

Although the entire family was safe, their home was a total wreck. To help this family rebuild their home, people all over the world donated to help the family with the expenses.

“If it wasn’t for Noah, we may not be here today,” David wrote.

Noah deserves the recognition! If it wasn’t for this brave young man, the family was not going to make it. Please consider sharing this amazing story on Facebook to show the courage and intellect of this 5 year old hero!
