Every year without fail, the family next door goes overboard with their Halloween decorations, and I’m absolutely fed up!
Their yard looks more like a haunted theme park than something fitting in with a cozy neighborhood. Do we really need skeletons dangling from every tree, fog machines spewing mist everywhere, and enough fake cobwebs to make me feel like I’m walking through a spider’s nightmare?
I get it, it’s Halloween, but isn’t there a line? A couple of pumpkins and some tasteful decorations should suffice! Instead, it’s a tacky competition to see who can scare the wits out of the neighborhood. I’m starting to think they enjoy the chaos they create.
What if those decorations really scare someone or some kids? Or what if an elderly person has a heart attack after suddenly seeing those creepy things at night? I know it’s Halloween, but can’t they just be normal like the other families in our neighborhood?
So, am I the only one who thinks this is ridiculous? How do I approach them without sounding like a grumpy old lady?
