The 51-year-old Mark Consuelos recently revealed that although he has no plans to have any more children, he is excited to become a grandfather someday. The actor considered his role as a father and what the future might bring in an open discussion with his wife, Kelly Ripa, on her new podcast, Let’s Chat Off Camera with Kelly Ripa.
Enjoying being a grandparent despite having no more children
Ripa asked Consuelos if he would think about getting married again if something happened to her in a preview of the podcast. In response, Consuelos stated that he has no desire to get married again or have any more children. “I don’t want any more children,” he said plainly. The older father will be me.
After mentioning that many older men she knows are just beginning to have children, Ripa brought up the subject of older men having children later in life. Consuelos, however, was happy that he had given birth to his children earlier, stating, “I did it early.” I didn’t mean to do that, but we were lucky to do it when we did.
Considering Early Parenthood
Michael, 25, Lola, 21, and Joaquin, 20, are the three children that Consuelos and Ripa have together. Consuelos acknowledged that, looking back on their parenting experience, he may have preferred more time spent together before starting a family, but he still feels lucky that the timing was right. “I thought it was a little early,” he said. At least a year or two should have been ours. Now, though, I’m excited to become a grandfather. I only want that kind of parenting.
The Pride Kelly Ripa Takes in Their Kids
Joaquin turned 20 recently, and Ripa, who agrees with her husband that they should raise their kids early, recently celebrated his birthday. In celebration of the milestone, she posted old pictures to her Instagram Story and mentioned how quickly time has passed on her morning talk show, Live with Kelly and Ryan. As she considered her kids’ development, she remarked, “It’s just a flash.” It’s just one minute.
Ripa and Consuelos were commended by her co-host Ryan Seacrest for raising three amazing kids. As they watched their children grow into adults, Ripa conveyed her appreciation for having finished the parenting journey at that time.
The Podcast’s and Family Life’s Future
Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen, Carol Burnett, and Matthew McConaughey are among the impressive guests on Let’s Chat Off Camera with Kelly Ripa, which is produced by Consuelos and Ripa’s production company Milojo Productions in association with SiriusXM. The podcast, which debuted in March 2022, provides an insight into the couple’s personal lives, parenting philosophies, and changing roles as their kids become adults.
