Terrifying reports have confirmed the final moments of a grandmother in Florida who died under the most tragic circumstances.
Think along the lines of getting knocked out of a canoe and being mauled to death by a giant 11-foot-long alligator as her husband watched in horror.
Cynthia Diekema of Davenport, who hails from Florida, was enjoying her day on Lake Kissimmee with her partner, Dave Diekema, on Tuesday when the couple were seen paddling over the alligator inside the shallow water.
‘Wildlife officials revealed how the pair’s 14-foot canoe was in just two feet of water when the giant beast arose out of nowhere and thrashed them both from beneath.
The alligator caused the pair's canoe to flip. This pulled both of them into the water as the grandmother fell directly on top of the beast.
‘This led the reptile to fatally attack the woman while her horrified partner desperately attempted to save his life. Emergency services were called to the scene at about 4 pm and spotted the victim floating inside the water. She was retrieved from the lake and pronounced dead at the scene, the Wildlife Commission shared.
