A heartbreaking message from the distraught father follows the death of a 7-month-old infant who was mauled by the family’s pit bull, leaving the family in despair.

 

Kameron Turner said, “I’d give my life to bring my baby back,” on Facebook, expressing his sorrow almost a day after.

His daughter Elizah passed away in the tragedy. The assault happened early on Wednesday, April 9 at the family home in Columbus, Ohio.

 

A guy was seen explaining the issue to the attending officer in body cam video made public by the Columbus Police Department.

He said that he had confined one of the dogs in a vehicle while the other two were still on the property.

Officers arrived on the scene about 11:30 a.m., according to the body camera footage. According to the Mirror US, a spokesperson for the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.

Told People magazine that Elizah was pronounced dead at 11:43 a.m. The representative said that the infant was first transported.

 

To a nearby fire station by one of the parents before being brought to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where Dr. Jennifer Melvin declared the 7-month-old dead as soon as they arrived.

Franklin Animal Control has taken all three canines into their custody and is leading the investigation into the terrible incident, according to Columbus Police Department Sgt. James Fuqua.

“All I want to say is please everyone who has babies hold them tight and never leave their side,” her distraught father said on Facebook.

This pain is so excruciating. Turner said that his family had just moved into their new house and were excited to begin a new chapter in their lives.
