The late Ingo Swann said he saw an alien civilization and asked a CIA agent if the U.S. had ever made contact
Newly surfaced government files from a CIA-run program claim that an 'alien civilization' might exist on the Moon.
Back in the 1970s, when interest in clairvoyance and spiritualism was booming, U.S. government agencies started exploring the idea. They even hired people who claimed to have psychic abilities to work on classified projects.
One of those individuals was Ingo Swann. He became involved in what's known as 'remote viewing'—a practice where people claim they can mentally visualize things happening far away, without physically being there.
Born in Colorado in 1933, Swann worked in complete secrecy. His job involved experiencing intense psychic visions and reporting what he saw back to the CIA.
During one of these psychic sessions, he claimed to have mentally traveled to the far side of the Moon often called the 'dark side' because it always faces away from Earth.
In 1998, he released a book titled Penetration: The Question of Extraterrestrial and Human Telepathy. In it, he made stunning claims that he had observed a civilization of extraterrestrial beings living there.
Swann, who passed away in 2013, explained that the CIA recruited him specifically for his remote viewing skills. He said he wasn’t allowed to talk about his role in the program called Project Stargate for a minimum of 10 years.
In his book, he shared that one day in February 1975, he got a mysterious call from Washington, D.C. He was asked to take part in a secret mission.
After meeting a man he only knew as 'Mr. Axelrod', Swann had a bag placed over his head and was flown via helicopter. He claimed he was taken to a hidden underground facility afterward.
"We want you to go to the Moon for us, and describe what you see." Swann recalled being told by Axelrod.
Describing the scenes that unfolded in his vision on the Moon about 238,000 miles from Earth, he wrote: "I found towers, machinery, lights of different colors, strange-looking buildings."
"I found bridges whose function I couldn't figure out. There were a lot of domes of various sizes."
He also said he saw aliens among the buildings and machinery. They appeared to be unclothed and, according to Swann, all of them seemed to be male.
While they were busy mining on the lunar surface, Swann claimed that two of them suddenly looked right at him as if they sensed his presence.
"Two of them pointed in my direction." he wrote. "How could they do that… unless… they have some kind of high psychic perceptions, too?"
After experiencing what he believed to be contact with extraterrestrial life, Swann brought what he saw back to 'Mr. Axelrod'. He then asked the agent if the U.S. had ever communicated with the beings he had just witnessed.
Recalling what he said during that conversation, Swann wrote: "They somehow have told you to stay away. That's why you are resorting to psychic perceptions. They are not friendly, are they?"
He claimed Axelrod’s response was: "Swann was approximately correct… but not completely so."
