A mom’s Facebook post about a strange discovery in her son’s room sent social media users into a frenzy.
Asking for advice online can sometimes backfire, and for one mom, it led to an unexpected scare.
While the internet can be a goldmine of helpful information, it can also provide some answers you wish you hadn’t heard.
This was exactly the case for a mom who turned to Facebook to solve a mystery at the end of her seven-year-old’s bed.
Little did she know, her innocent query would unleash a wave of terrifying suggestions and theories.
Posting in the popular Family Lowdown Tips & Ideas Facebook group, the mom included a series of photos along with her question:
"Does anybody have any idea what this could be? It's at the end of my son's bed on the floor."
The images showed small, dark, egg-like objects scattered on the floor near her child’s bed. Understandably confused and concerned, she added:
"Not anywhere else in his room, not in his ottoman bed base or under his bed. Just at the end in one spot (I've spread it out a bit to look). Any ideas, please?"
Predictably, the comments section exploded with alarming responses as users speculated about the origin of the objects.
Some replies were enough to make anyone’s skin crawl.
One user remarked dramatically: "OMG, my skin is crawling – I hope this is cereal as I'm about to freak the freak out,"
Another chimed in, summing up the collective dread with: "Nope ... new fear unlocked,"
"I have now found out it's from a heat teddy that's popped at the end of his bed."
With that, everyone could breathe a collective sigh of relief, knowing there weren’t any creepy crawlies secretly laying eggs in bedrooms.
