Wild video captures the moment the victim of a savage Bronx beatdown turned the tables on his attackers Monday afternoon – firing off gunshots that left one of the brutes clinging to life.
A short but intense video clip obtained by The Post shows a violent confrontation unfolding between two young men and their victim.
It all happened just before 1 p.m. on Commonwealth Avenue, close to Westchester Avenue in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx.
The video shows the pair cornering the man against a wall during a disturbing moment of violence.
During the altercation, things escalated when one of the attackers kicked the victim in the face as he crouched down, clearly trying to protect himself. Shockingly, the brutal moment was being recorded on a cell phone by the attacker.
Despite taking a serious beating, the man on the ground stood back up. The footage shows one of his attackers—wearing a black T-shirt and orange shorts grabbing him from behind as the situation took a dramatic turn.
In a sudden twist, the victim pulled out a gun and fired it over his shoulder, hitting the man in orange shorts in the torso. The man collapsed onto the sidewalk, critically injured and unable to move.
The other assailant, dressed in red sweatpants and a white T-shirt, took off running as more gunshots rang out in his direction. The video captures the chaotic scene as the roles quickly reversed.
The shooter, who was wearing black pants with a black sweater over a white shirt, calmly walked past the man he had just shot. Before the video cuts off, he glanced down at the injured attacker lying on the pavement.
According to police, the man who was shot was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center. He remains in critical condition as of the latest update.
Authorities say no arrests have been made so far, and they are continuing to investigate the incident.
