Rod Stewart Brutally Mocks Donald Trump With Savage Lyric Change During Live Performance

Iconic singer Rod Stewart brutally mocked Donald Trump with a savage lyric change during a live performance at one of his Canada concerts.

While performing on Toronto’s Budweiser Stage, Rod was singing ‘I Will Survive’ by Gloria Gaynor when he changed the lyrics to hit out at the American president.

He sang: “We spent so many nights thinking how you did us wrong, we’ve banded all together, your tariff made us strong.”

The 80-year-old went on, referencing Trump’s comments about turning Canada into another US state: “You know you’re not so great, there’s not a snowball’s chance in hell we’ll be your 51st state.

“We have all we really need, we will live without your greed, we will survive.

“… 51st state my f*****g a**!” he sang.

Speaking on 25 July, Trump said; “We haven’t really had a lot of luck with Canada,”.

“I think Canada could be one where there’s just a tariff, not really a negotiation.”

Previously, Trump had threatened that Canada would be hit with a 35% goods tax if no deal was reached by August 1.

Canada responded that no they had no plans to be pressured into a deal and that they would not accept a poor deal.

When the tariffs were first proposed, Ontario hit back with a 25% charge to electric going to America. Premier Doug Ford said: “If the US escalates, I will not hesitate to shut off electricity completely.”

Trump responded by calling this an “abusive threat”, taking to social media: “Based on Ontario, Canada, placing a 25% Tariff on ‘Electricity’ coming into the United States, I have instructed my Secretary of Commerce to add an ADDITIONAL 25% Tariff.”

Later, adding; ‘the only thing that makes sense is for Canada to become our cherished Fifty First State. This would make all Tariffs, and everything else, totally disappear.’

Stewart, who used to be friends with Trump, has since revealed: “I live literally half a mile away… We’re both on the beach. I used to go to his Christmas parties. He’s always been a bit of a man’s man. I liked him for that.

“But he didn’t, as far as I’m concerned, treat women very well. But since he became President, he became another guy. Somebody I didn’t know.”
