A seven-year-old boy from Balrampur miraculously survived after a 2.27-inch nail pierced his neck and extended into his brain. Upon arrival at KGMU, MRI scans revealed the nail had narrowly missed a vital blood vessel. A specialized team from the Neurosurgery and ENT departments performed a tense four-hour operation, carefully extracting the nail without damaging critical brain structures. Post-surgery, the boy was moved to the PICU and is now in stable condition. Doctors expect a full recovery. KGMU is preparing a case report for international publication, calling it a milestone in pediatric emergency surgery. The family expressed deep gratitude for the life-saving care.
