Juan Manuel Medina, former Bexar County Democratic Party Chair and ex-mayoral candidate in San Antonio, has been indicted along with eight others in an alleged illegal vote-harvesting scheme, according to Newsmax.The charges stem from a statewide investigation led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Medina is accused of offering benefits to two individuals in exchange for vote-harvesting efforts supporting Democrat Cecilia Castellano,
who lost her 2024 Texas House District 80 race to Republican Don McLaughlin.Castellano, along with Rachel Leal and former Dilley council member Inelda Rodriguez, was also indicted. Her supporters maintain she is innocent and did nothing illegal.
