Following the conclusion of her talk show in 2024, Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have embarked on a new life. They have left the United States behind and now reside full-time in England’s picturesque Cotswolds region.
The couple has fully embraced the serene countryside, trading the glamour of Hollywood for a more rustic existence. After a final stand-up tour across America, they settled into an area celebrated for its charming villages and peaceful, rolling hills.
Their passion for real estate followed them. In spring 2024, they purchased and renovated a 43-acre property known as Kitesbridge Farm. However, they soon realized they needed a more permanent home that could accommodate a specific need.
“When we decided to live here full-time, we knew that Portia couldn’t live without her horses,” DeGeneres explained. They subsequently acquired a sleek, contemporary farmhouse designed with ample space for de Rossi’s horses, which were transported from the U.S.
Their days are now filled with rural tasks. Through social media, they share a life of mowing grass, tending to animals, and walking their dogs. The property is home to freely roaming chickens and grazing sheep, creating a tranquil daily backdrop.
The estate itself masterfully blends modern and rustic elements. The main house features floor-to-ceiling glass walls offering panoramic views, while the barn includes spacious stalls and a cozy seating area with leather armchairs and vintage decor.
This move represents more than a change of address for the couple. It signifies a profound shift toward a slower, more grounded lifestyle, deeply connected to nature and a world away from their previous life in the spotlight.
