President Donald Trump invited the Los Angeles Dodgers to the White House after the MLB team became back-to-back World Series champions on Nov. 1.
“Congratulations to the L.A. Dodgers, a game won by incredible CHAMPIONS!!!” the president wrote in a Truth Social post on Nov. 2.
The Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5–4 on Saturday night in 11 innings.
This is the first time Major League Baseball has had a repeat champion since 1998–2000, when the New York Yankees won the World Series three years in a row.
“A lesser group of men would never have been able to win that game, or game 6, for that matter,” Trump continued. “So many stars made it all happen. Also, congratulations to ownership. What a great job they have done. SEE YOU ALL AT THE WHITE HOUSE!!!”
He did not specify when a Dodgers visit to Washington would take place.
The Epoch Times reached out to the White House and the press department for the Los Angeles Dodgers for additional details but did not hear back by time of publication.
If the Dodgers accept the invite, it would be the team’s second visit to the White House in Trump’s second term.
The back-to-back champions first visited on Apr. 7, 2025, after they won the 2024 World Series against the New York Yankees.
But before the team eyes a potential White House visit, they will first participate in a hometown celebration with their fans.
A victory parade is happening in downtown Los Angeles on Nov. 3. starting at 11 a.m. PT.
Double-decker buses will transport players, coaches, and executives from downtown into Dodger Stadium, with another celebration inside once they arrive.
The Los Angeles Police Department is preparing for the event, which could bring 250,000 people onto the streets and 42,000 inside the stadium, based on numbers from last year’s parade.
The L.A. Department of Transportation has planned to close a number of streets and will be deploying “125 white glove traffic officers” to help with the surge of people coming into the area.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, who has been in office since late 2022, warned in a press release on Nov. 1 that the LAPD is on heightened alert and “will have significant and visible officer presence at and around the parade route and near Dodger Stadium.”
Bass added that law enforcement will be on hand to protect businesses from vandalism and violence.
“There will be no tolerance for anyone who tries to take advantage of this win,” Bass said on X.
