CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKYC/CNN NEWSOURCE) - Cleveland police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday near Interstate 71.

Officers responded to a report of a woman who had been shot and found a vehicle that had crashed into a wall. A woman inside the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, and a man later died at a hospital. A third person was injured but refused medical treatment, police said.

Investigators said the victims had attended a gathering before driving away. As their vehicle entered the highway, another vehicle approached and shots were fired.

Police believe the shooting was targeted and are searching for those responsible.
