Christmas Night Tragedy
A family celebration turned tragic in Hartford, Connecticut,
when 14-year-old Malachi James was killed in a hit-and-run crash around 9:18 p.m. on Cornwall Street.
A Tesla Cybertruck traveling the opposite direction struck the family’s Toyota Camry. Malachi later died at the hospital.
Driver Flees, Investigation Ongoing
The Cybertruck driver ran from the scene.
Police say they have spoken with the vehicle’s owner but believe that person was not driving, and the truck was not stolen.
Authorities say speed “may have been a factor,” and no arrests have been made.
Family Devastated
Malachi was remembered as a “bright, kind-hearted teenager” with “limitless potential.”
His father, sister, and three-year-old niece were critically injured and remain hospitalized.
Community Response
Loved ones launched a GoFundMe for funeral costs, medical bills,
and counseling, as the community calls for justice and accountability.
